You Pick Farms North Texas

A You-Pick or Pick-Your-Own farm operation is a type of farm is where the emphasis is on customers doing the harvesting themselves. It’s the best way to go fruit picking nearby.

A you-pick farm might be preferred by people who like to select fresh, high quality, vine-ripened produce and berries themselves at lower prices or even beautiful Texas Tulips during a short season in March

There are so many to choose from and include a variety of options to create a family-fun day around Dallas, Collin County, Plano and throughout Texas!

Texas is home to so many you-pick farms and a new recommendation or two are on our list.

It’s a great thing to do when we have nice weather in the spring and early summer and is a great option as a Cheap things to do

You can also purchase Farm Produce in Local Plano Farmers Markets, Dallas Farmers Market and McKinney Farmers Market

Here’s a list of some places around Texas that have everything from berry picking farms, fruit to pecans.

Some are a drive so it would be a full day of traveling and picking.

Make sure you call ahead and check online for each place as they might close for weather or be out of season.

Farms Close to Dallas

O’Neal Berry Farm – 7726 CR 2580, Royse City, TX – go early as they usually close once it’s picked out, which is usually lunchtime. Blackberries are their jam! 

Pecan Creek Strawberry Farm 12141 Foutch Road, Pilot Point, TX – A pick your own strawberry farm located in Pilot Point. Opens in April.

Greer Farm:  1444 Co Rd 1125, Daingerfield, TX 75638 Blackberries start end of May. This looks like a great place to stay overnight too!

Blueberry Hill Farm: 10268 FM 314, We are 5 miles from Brownsboro, TX 75756 Pick your own blueberries and blackberries in June and July. They also have a really cute county store inside!

Hidden Honey Farm: 7241 FM1387, Waxahachie, TX 75167 (817) 900-3276 Strawberries, eggs, and honey for sale.

Larken Farms Orchard: 3653 Greathouse Rd, Waxahachie, TX 75167 A variety of fresh peaches starting in April through July.

Jenkins Farms: 269 CR 1600, Ravenna, TX, 75476 903-583-2220 blackberries, plums, and peaches (daily June and July)

Ham Orchards: 11939 Co Rd 309, Terrell, TX 75161 (972) 524-2028 Fresh peaches since 1979!  They also have a complete farm market store and offer hot BBQ food for sale and a patio to eat out. Their season is mid May – mid August and they’re open 9am – 5pm. Closed Sundays.

How does a farm get added to the list. We have a pick-your-own garden in Lucas. Currently we have cherry tomatoes, slicer tomatoes, several colors of bell peppers (including purple!), sweet peppers and hot peppers. We’ll be open Saturday 7am until noon. $2/person gate fee. Whatever veggies picked are $4/pound. Fieldsong Farm, Lucas, TX.
