Schlitterbahn – 5 Waterparks in Texas
As a part of the Texas Travel Talk Community, I attended the Travel Talk Converge Conference and was hosted by Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels, Texas with my family.
As we are still fairly new to Texas we love visiting new places and our visit to Schlitterbahn New Braunfels did not disappoint. I have never been to a water park that offers so much. Schlitterbahn New Braunfels has been honored with the title of “World’s Best Water Park” for 21 years. They also have locations in Galveston, Corpus Christi, South Padre Island and Kansas City.
With more than 70 acres and more than 50 attractions we can see why!
What did we love?
Schlitterbahn New Braunfels Rapid River
One of our favorite Schlitterbahn attractions is the Rapid River. We can literally stay in the river all day. In New Braunfels the river even connects both sides of the park. There are rapids, waterfalls, rides, and so much more all from the river.
We also enjoyed the Aquaveyer, Back Splash and Cliffhanger Tube Chute. Honestly, we would definitely have filled at least 2 days with all the different attractions they had there.
We also loved grabbing a Boogie Board and trying out some Surfing at the Boogie Bahn.
They coin the phrase “Bahn love” and we can certainly see why.
Our Top Tips
Where to stay
Schlitterbahn has a variety of different options to rest your head and use as a base when spending time at the Park or venturing into New Braunfels.
They have Hotel rooms, one and two bedroom suites, Riverbend Cabins, Treehaus Luxury Suites and vacations homes at the Resort. All of them provide quick and easy access to the various entrances of the Park. We stayed at the Treehaus Luxury Suites and they were just that – jetted tub and scenic balcony coupled with a fully equipped kitchen and multiple bedrooms and bathrooms.
Food and Drink
There are a lot of great food options available – they pride themselves on slow smoking their own BBQ and hand stretching their Pizza dough. You can get healthy options as well as traditional park fare. You can also self-cater by bringing your own picnic inside your own cooler, but please leave alcohol or glass at home.
Alcohol is available for purchase for over 21’s in the Park. We enjoyed a nice cool beer in the swim-up bar at one of their heated pools!
They have a network of buses which will take you around the Park to get closer to your favorite slides or attractions, but there are also numerous parking lots right there by the entrances.
Look out for lockers to rent, to store your belongings.
Protect your phone
We recommend purchasing the waterproof phone holder to take photos and videos while you are riding the slides and then relive your memories.
