While we have a ton of decorated neighborhoods where you can go Trick or Treat, we figured you may also want to pay a visit to one of these haunted houses in Dallas, Plano, and the DFW (Dallas Fort Worth) metroplex.
Word of warning: not all of these are good for younger children, so please ensure you check them out before leaving home or making your Halloween event plans.

Six Flags Fright Fest

Be prepared to be spooked as you take in the rides at Six Flags but they go all out for Halloween, decor, characters and so much more.

Junkyard Haunted House – Dallas

Allow 15-20 minutes for general admission, to enjoy this real haunted junkyard, filled with live actors, special effects (all recycled from other people’s trash haulers and recyclers) this is a very unique haunted house in the Oak Cliff area – a perfect dark attraction.
Screams Halloween Theme Park – Waxahachie

Cost: Tickets and Fast passes are available online only, and specific to the dates chosen. Fast passes cut wait-time in half. They’re available in limited numbers.

For the wider choice of Haunted Houses DFW, head to Waxahachie for this unique Haunted House theme park with not one, two or even three haunted houses.
There are 5 haunted houses and a ton of dark attractions, terrifying live actors and much more for the Halloween season.
Each haunted house has it’s own theme, including the all-new Bootlegger’s Bayou – along with the Cool Ghoul Boulevard (one of their newer main attractions) where you will find amazing special effects and great stage shows at the Screams main stage.
They offer great spooky food and drink options at the Food Court, Full Moon Cafe or 13th Hour bakery.

Dark Hour Haunted House offers a great haunted walk-through experience and is one of our closest, local haunted houses as well as being one of DFW’s scariest haunted houses.
J & F House of Terror

This is a haunted house maze giving you a scary haunted walkthrough with live actors! It’s different every year.

Nightmare on Little Elm Street

This is a custom-haunted house experience in Little Elm, Texas. Perfect for younger kids or those who don’t want too scary of a scare.
This dark attraction features 85 different props and cutting edge animatronics arranged into different scenes.
Haunted Shadows Lake Trail

It’s sort of a Blair Witch Project-style haunted trail walk through the woods and weeds along the shore of Lake Lewisville in The Colony.
Your group will pick your way through the dark, winding, marked trail …and (CUE SCARY MUSIC) to uncover the various creatures that you’ll meet along the way…the Lady of the Lake, a werewolf or two, and the undead in the Lakeside Cemetery.
