Fun Events Happening At the Plano Libraries in March

March is a busy time at the Plano public libraries with a variety of programs for all ages and interests.  Here is your list of everything coming up in March at all five Plano Public Library locations.  You can always find a pdf copy of the latest issue of Engage, an online calendar, and special news on the web at www.planolibrary.org.

March Events at the Plano Public Library

 A sample of some of the programs and special events happening in March:

  • Free Tax Help (provided by AARP volunteers) is available to the public at 4 of the Plano libraries on specific days and times. (see p. 6)

  • Popular street artist Samuel Molina returns for a March residency at the 18st AIRSpace at Harrington Library. Samuel will conduct all-age workshops using his street art style to create Cartoon Characters (March 11, p. 1) and Advanced Lettering (March 25, p. 3).

  • Plano Public Library kicks off Thinking Money in March, a special initiative to help families, teens, and adults start thinking about money, savings, financial health, and more.  During Thinking Money, various money-related programs will be held March through June, culminating with Haggard Library hosting the traveling Thinking Money Exhibit May 18 – June 27. March Thinking Money programs are The Art of Money for all ages at Davis Library on March 13 (p. 9) and Be a Financial Superstar at Haggard Library on March 30 (p. 3) to help high school students learn to become financially independent adults.

 

  • The Wonder Café explores the Information Highway at Davis Library on March 17 to find out how voice, data, and video travel around the world. (p. 3)

 

  • Families can meet storybook favorites Pancake Pig and Maisy at specific library locations in March! (p. 9)

  • Teens in grades 6 through 12 can play Pictionary like they never have before using the HTC Vive. Play a virtual game of Pictionary and unleash your creativity in three dimensions! Virtual Pictionary will be played at Schimelpfenig Library on March 10. (p.1)
