Being adventurous outdoors is a great family activity, to get kids (and you) away from Digital Screens and into nature again. We do not have to travel far. Within Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve, you'll find Go Ape Treetop Adventure.

You can spend hours navigating each part of the course, which features high-ropes, ziplines, climbing and swinging.

Some tips:

  • Wear close-toed shoes and active wear
  • Pull hair back and bring some gardening gloves to wear
  • You don't need to carry water. Go Ape has water stations throughout the course.
  • Plan to spend 2-3 hours there. They'll give you a safety briefing before you begin
  • Make use of the selfie stations to capture your family fun all together!

The minimum age is 10 years old, minimum height of 55 inches and Kids aged 10-15 must be supervised by one participating adult of 18+ - you must be on the course with them.

16-17 year olds need a waiver by a legal guardian or adult to be signed for their participation.

Rates may vary, but at the time of publishing they are:

Adult (and Young Adult 16-17 years) $58, Kids are $38 (10-15 years)

So, here's the best bit: you get to try it with an exclusive discount

Go Ape Plano Boy

Hi, I’m Abbie, super mom, and busy-bee who moved to Plano from London, England with my husband and 2 kids, Jesse and Lucy, in the Summer of 2013. Plano Moms was my lifeline when I arrived as I didn’t know anyone or anything about my new city that I now called home. Where did I start to make friends and meet moms like me? How did I know who were the best hairstylists, or dentists or pre-school options for my kids? Which area should I look for to find the right home and school for my son? All these questions were answered by Plano Moms, like me. I found a lifeline in it and chose to build it into the community it is today – 15,000 moms sharing ideas, tips, referrals and making connections with each other through Social Media, Planomoms.com, events & regular email newsletters! When I’m not being a Plano Mom or being a taxi service to my kids, I am coaching & consulting local businesses, working out, cooking and reading (when I find the time!)
