Fun things to do on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day

The 7th annual Day 1 DFW (formerly known as Day 1 Dallas) New Year’s Day event is an all-inclusive experience where families can enjoy unlimited bowling, billiards, laser tag, gravity ropes, golf, arcade games, and more.
This year, Day 1 DFW is expanding to all seven DFW Main Event locations in Frisco, Grapevine, Lewisville, Plano, Grand Prairie, Fort Worth North, and Fort Worth South.
Early Bird Day 1 DFW All-Access Tickets are available until December 10.
Participants will get TWO Day 1 DFW tickets for $35. The regular ticket price is $20 each.
Ticket purchase also includes bowling shoes and a $10 Fun Card for use around the Main Event facility.
Each site will offer face painting for $5 and photo booths for fun family pictures.
Day 1 DFW activities will also include free drive-in fireworks shows!
All-access passes allow access to the Main Event facility of your choice, a $10 fun card for games, and bowling shoe rental!

Say goodbye to 2021, and celebrate the coming of 2022 in the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden!

Jazzberry Jammin’ New Year’s Eve
The event features New Year’s themed crafts, a special holiday background at “Be a Star” and afternoon New Year’s countdowns. Celebrate the new year without missing bedtime!
All activities are included with admission. The fun begins at 10 a.m. on New Year’s Eve at Crayola Experience Plano.

We are coming to the end of the Holiday Lights season but Drive-thru or Walking tours of the Local Lights are a great way to celebrate the New Year.
Dallas Zoo Lights
Location: 650 South R.L. Thornton Freeway (I-35E), Dallas, TX 75203
The Zoo is located three miles south of downtown Dallas, just off I-35E at the Ewing Ave. / Marsalis Ave. exit.
TxDOT is working on I-35E as part of a major construction project that is now underway and may affect your trip to the Zoo.
After the animals head in for the evening, the Dallas Zoo will transform into a winter wonderland with over one million twinkling lights illuminating ZooNorth throughout the holiday season ready for you to navigate in your car.
This year, discover realistic silk-covered lanterns in the shape of your favorite animals, plus even more light displays and festivities for the entire family!

Vitruvian Park is transformed into a dazzling and magical holiday wonderland during Vitruvian Lights, when over 1.5 million sparkling LED lights are wrapped around more than 550 trees – perfect for a drive-thru experience.
It remains open on New Years Eve and is on our big list of the Best Places in Dallas to see Christmas Lights
The Trains at NorthPark
Location: 8687 N Central Expy, Dallas, TX 75225
The most elaborate miniature toy trains exhibit in Texas, The Trains at NorthPark™ features trains rolling across 1,800 feet of track on a journey across America.
Cityscapes include New York City’s Time Square and Grand Central Station, The White House, New England’s fall foliage, the Grand Canyon, Route 66, San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, Albuquerque’s hot air balloons and, of course, Dallas’ Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, The State Fair of Texas, The Cotton Bowl, Nasher Sculpture Center, The Perot Museum, and Southern Methodist University.
The exhibit encompasses train-themed environments with all the trimmings of the holiday train travel experience—steam engines, coach cars, a ticket booth, and a train station.
Each year, more than 80,000 people visit The Trains at NorthPark™ as a part of their holiday tradition.
All proceeds from ticket sales go to helping families at Ronald McDonald House of Dallas.

Skate Under the Stars at the outdoor ice rink located directly outside the Children’s Health StarCenter Farmers Branch this holiday season!
The ice rink will offer visitors outdoor skating, concessions and more. All visitors MUST wear a mask or approved facial covering while on the ice at the outdoor rink.
General Admission (ages 4+): $10, Youth admission (3 & under): FREE, and Skate rental: $5.
Christmas in the Square
Location: 8843 Coleman Boulevard, Frisco, TX
New Years Eve Hours: 4pm – 10pm, weather dependent.
Christmas in the Square returns for another year, full of established favorites and new surprises, such as their acclaimed Light Show, Skate the Square, Christmas Tree Lot by Scouts Troop 51, Horse Carriages, a Holiday Vendor Market, and Ike the Polar Bear!
The Holiday lights and music will run daily 6-10 PM – the show is free to the public.

One of Texas’ most popular holiday attractions will be better than ever this year with one-of-a-kind custom displays and brand-new indoor and outdoor attractions.

Let it Glow, Holiday Light Show
Location: 1701 Shoal Creek, Highland Village, TX 75077
This year’s display includes a 60 foot Christmas Tree and over 245,300 efficient LED lights synchronized to festive holiday music.
Guests can enjoy daily showings of the interactive light show in Central Park every hour on the hour from 6 pm to 9 pm.

Reunion Tower OVER THE TOP NYE 2021
For the sixth year, Reunion Tower and Hunt Realty Investments, Inc. are bringing a Texas-sized New Year’s Eve event to Dallas. Now benefiting Children’s Health ℠ , the only 360-degree, panoramic fireworks spectacular in the Central time zone will light up the Dallas sky starting at 11:59 p.m. CDT on Friday, Dec. 31, 2021.
Both companies are proud to announce the annual fireworks, and light show will be joined by a 225-drone light show engineered and flown by DFW-based Sky Elements.
The drones will fly at heights of up to 400 feet and create an array of visual elements the likes have never seen before above the Dallas skyline.
A great way to ring in the New Year is to enjoy one of Plano’s Best Breakfast or Brunch spots around Town.
