Fun things to do on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day
New Year’s Day with Day 1 DFW

Date: January 1, 2023 at Irving Convention Center
KIDS ADMISSION: FREE! · ADULTS 18+ ADMISSION: $10 – TICKETS HERE
In its eighth year of celebration, Day 1 DFW is an all-inclusive event, bringing families together on New Year’s Day. Hosted by Vogel Alcove at The Irving Convention Center, guests get access to family-friendly, fun-filled activities and performances all day long. The event ends with a spectacular fireworks show.
All-access passes allow access to the Main Event facility of your choice, a $10 fun card for games, and bowling shoe rental!
Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden Noon Year’s Eve Celebration

We are coming to the end of the Holiday Lights season but Drive-thru or Walking tours of the Local Lights are a great way to celebrate the New Year.
Dallas Zoo Lights
Location: 650 South R.L. Thornton Freeway (I-35E), Dallas, TX 75203
Dates: November 17- Jan 1, from 5.30 pm – 10 pm each night
Dallas Zoo Lights Presented by Reliant returns this year as a walk-thru event!
Advance purchase of timed entry tickets is required.

Come enjoy a Magical Night of Lights ceremony!
The most dazzling and spectacular time of the year is here! Vitruvian Park transforms into a magical holiday wonderland during Vitruvian Lights; November 25, 2022 – January 1, 2023.
Drive or walk-through the park to enjoy the colorful LED lights on display each evening through the holiday season. Free entry.
Parking is available onsite at Vitruvian Park; Bella Lane, Park Road, and Ponte Avenue Parking Lots.

The Trains at NorthPark
Location: 8687 N Central Expy, Dallas, TX 75225
November 12 – January 6
The most elaborate miniature toy trains exhibit in Texas, The Trains at NorthPark™ features trains rolling across 1,800 feet of track on a journey across America.
Cityscapes include New York City’s Time Square and Grand Central Station, The White House, New England’s fall foliage, the Grand Canyon, Route 66, San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, Albuquerque’s hot air balloons and, of course, Dallas’ Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, The State Fair of Texas, The Cotton Bowl, Nasher Sculpture Center, The Perot Museum, and Southern Methodist University.
The exhibit encompasses train-themed environments with all the trimmings of the holiday train travel experience—steam engines, coach cars, a ticket booth, and a train station.
Each year, more than 80,000 people visit The Trains at NorthPark™ as a part of their holiday tradition.
All proceeds from ticket sales go to helping families at Ronald McDonald House of Dallas.

Skating Under the Stars – Farmers Branch
Location: 12700 Denton Drive Farmers Branch, TX 75234.
Head to the Children’s Health StarCenter in Farmers Branch, at the corner of I-35E and 635.
New Year’s Eve times:
12:00 PM – 7:15 PM
Skate Under the Stars at the outdoor ice rink located directly outside the Children’s Health StarCenter Farmers Branch this holiday season!
The ice rink will offer visitors outdoor skating, concessions and more. All visitors MUST wear a mask or approved facial covering while on the ice at the outdoor rink.
General Admission (ages 4+): $10, Youth admission (3 & under): FREE, and Skate rental: $5.
Christmas in the Square
Location: 8843 Coleman Boulevard, Frisco, TX
Dates: November 18 – January 3
Where: Located at the intersection of the Dallas North Tollway and Main Street (FM 720), Frisco, TX
The Frisco Square Property Owners Association presents the largest choreographed holiday lights and music show in North Texas. Christmas in the Square returns for its historic 18th anniversary with even more fun surprises this year!
Christmas in the Square draws over 75,000 visitors annually. Families, friends, and holiday guests from all over come and enjoy the spectacular show. The Holiday lights and music will run daily 6-10 PM. This show is free to the public.
Visitors may tune in to 107.3 FM on the radio in their vehicles or listen to the music piped through speakers as they take a walk through the Square.
Prairie Lights
Location: 5610 Lake Ridge Pkwy, Grand Prairie, TX
One of Texas’ most popular holiday attractions will be better than ever this year with one-of-a-kind custom displays and brand-new indoor and outdoor attractions.
Hours of Operation: Every day 6 pm – 10 pm.
Pricing is per Vehicle, up to 8 at $50 per car. Fast Pass tickets are available at reserved time slots for $149 per car. Prices for limos, commercial buses and shuttle vans vary.

NYE Disco – Legacy Hall
Go to disco heaven at DFW’s premier New Year’s Eve event at Legacy Hall with three floors of live entertainment, 5+ craft bars, and a HUGE midnight celebration!
Select eateries will open for delicious late night bites. Try not to catch disco fever with The Rich Girls’ mesmerizing performance from 8PM – 10PM in the Lexus Box Garden.
Whether you’re into classic throwback disco or modern mixes, each floor gets groovier with a different DJ and Instagrammable moments.
Our partners with Flower Wall Dallas are taking this party up a notch with a never before seen mashup of entertainment and decor. You’ll need to see it to believe it.
Reunion Tower Over The Top 2023
December 31, 11.50 pm – 12.10 am
For the seventh year, Reunion Tower and Hunt Realty Investments, Inc. are bringing a Texas-sized New Year’s Eve event to Dallas. The fireworks spectacular will benefit Children’s Health via the Reunion Tower NYE Foundation again this year. Established in 2020, the foundation supports and showcases a local North Texas nonprofit organization each year in the weeks leading up New Year’s Eve and culminating through the fireworks spectacular. Reunion Tower Over The Top NYE is the only 360-degree, panoramic fireworks spectacular in the Central time zone and will light up the Dallas sky starting at 11:59 p.m. CDT on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022.
**There will be no viewing of the fireworks show from the lawn of Reunion Tower or the restricted zones within the “hot zone”**
