18 Ideas to celebrate New Year’s Eve Dallas for 2020
We cannot believe that it’s almost the end of 2019! Do you have all of your fun plans made?
It’s usually a pretty big holiday with lots of fun things going on nearby around Dallas, Plano, Collin County, and Frisco to bring in 2020. Many of the places we suggest are found in our 25 things to do this Winter in DFW.

Fun things to do on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day
10 am -12 pm – Glowlights, bouncing, noisemakers, holiday snacks and sparkling grape juice make this a fun celebration to bring in the New Year that kids can enjoy too! Socks and a signed waiver are required to play. Please Note: This is a pre-paid event ONLY. Sorry, no walk-ins.
Little Land Allen-Fairview’s 2020 New Years Eve Countdown Party
Location: 279 Town Place, Fairview 75069
10am – 1pm – Countdown at Noon and Balloons drop, Max’s Donut holes, sparkling apple cider for children and mimosas for adults (one per person while supplies last!), Craft tables, Dance Party and New Year’s Instagram Wall. Little Land members get free admission, regular admission fees for all others.
Handmade Holidays at Crayola Experience Plano
Fill this season with color and create gifts from the heart during Crayola Experience’s Handmade Holidays! Create an elf with Crayola Model Magic, color and craft a handmade pop-out card. These holiday adventures are all in addition to the 25 creative, hands-on activities. Free for Season ticket holders or discounted tickets available here.
After the animals head in for the evening, the Dallas Zoo will transform into a winter wonderland with over one million twinkling lights illuminating ZooNorth throughout the holiday season. This year, discover realistic silk-covered lanterns in the shape of your favorite animals, plus even more light displays and festivities for the entire family!

Can’t stay up until midnight to ring in the new year? That’s okay, they can’t wait either! Join them New Year’s Eve day as we all celebrate the coming new year. Face painting, hands-on science experiments, design your own Snapchat filters, balloon twisters, robots, explosive stage shows and the 12:00 (noon) massive balloon drop!

Vitruvian Park is transformed into a dazzling and magical holiday wonderland during Vitruvian Lights, when over 1.5 million sparkling LED lights are wrapped around more than 550 trees. It remains open on New Years Eve and is on our big list of the Best Places in Dallas to see Christmas Lights
Get ready to bring in the New Year and craft a wishing wand! This is a free event and recommended for children ages 2+.
Ring in 2020 with My Gym! Let’s celebrate the new year with My Gym’s favorite activities, bubbles, rides and a balloon drop! Refreshments, snacks and noise makers provided.

You can test your engineering skills with augmented reality robot hockey, insulation design using a thermal camera, snowflake races, chats about Arctic dinosaur fossils, and other fun, winter-themed engineering activities.
All activities are included with General Admission.
The most elaborate miniature toy trains exhibit in Texas, The Trains at NorthPark™ features trains rolling across 1,800 feet of track on a journey across America. Cityscapes include New York City’s Time Square and Grand Central Station, The White House, New England’s fall foliage, the Grand Canyon, Route 66, San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge, Albuquerque’s hot air balloons and, of course, Dallas’ Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge, The State Fair of Texas, The Cotton Bowl, Nasher Sculpture Center, The Perot Museum, and Southern Methodist University. The exhibit encompasses train-themed environments with all the trimmings of the holiday train travel experience—steam engines, coach cars, a ticket booth, and a train station. Each year, more than 80,000 people visit The Trains at NorthPark™ as a part of their holiday tradition.
All proceeds from ticket sales go to helping families at Ronald McDonald House of Dallas. Admission prices are $7.00 for adults and $4.00 for children ages 2-12 and senior citizens ages 65 and older. Children under age 2 receive free admission.
Outdoor ice skating rink located at the Children’s Health StarCenter in Farmers Branch, at the corner of I-35E and 635. General Admission (ages 4+): $10, Youth admission (3 & under): FREE, and Skate rental: $5.
Frisco Square is excited to host Christmas in the Square again for 2019! Join us for one of North Texas’ largest choreographed light show, FNBO Skate the Square, a Christmas Tree Maze, and Visits with Santa!

Highland Village – This year’s display includes our 60 foot Christmas Tree and over 245,300 efficient LED lights synchronized to festive holiday music. Guests can enjoy daily showings of the interactive light show in our Central Park every hour on the hour from 6 pm to 9 pm.

Reunion Tower OVER THE TOP NYE 2019
The only 360-degree, panoramic fireworks spectacular in the Central time zone will light up the Dallas sky starting at 11:59 p.m. CDT on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019! There will be a Watch party at Dallas City Hall starting at 7pm.

Day 1 Dallas is a family fair specifically designed for children and families to celebrate New Year’s Day together. This year we’ve moved to Frisco! This kid-friendly celebration features interactive activities, crafts and games, great food and a spectacular fireworks show. Come out and play on New Year’s Day at Frisco’s Dr Pepper Ballpark Center and Embassy Suites Convention Center. Tickets are $5 for those ages 2+.
A great way to ring in the New Year is to enjoy one of Plano’s Best Breakfast or Brunch spots around Town.
