Have you been able to attend any of the Fall Festivals around North Dallas?
Some trick or treat nearby is nearly every weekend and pumpkin patches in Collin County are awesome!! Now it’s time to think about Halloween events just the kids. Halloween can be such a fun and exciting time. It’s hard when the actual day falls on a school day. So many churches and places now offer family friendly and safe events. Many of these are even free and so are haunted house for kids! We love attending some of these because not only is it fun and safe but we get some more wear out of our costumes!!

Here’s a look at some great Halloween events for kids happening in Collin County.

September 21 – October 31 at Crayola Experience Plano
Screamin’ Green Hauntoween is back September 21 – October 31, and it’s bigger and more colorful than ever! Monster-ific crafts and special spooky happenings all month long. Participate in a themed scavenger hunt that’s fun for the whole family! Plus trick-or-treating every weekend, all while exploring 24 exciting hands-on attractions. There is so much to “BOO”, you may never want to leave. ALL included with general admission. Kids are welcome to wear costumes.

Little Elm Halloween Carnival
October 17th, 18th, 19th 6pm – 9pm.
Johnny Broyles Nature Trail, Little Elm Park. Come out and enjoy an old-fashioned carnival and hit the free pumpkin patch. Local companies and organizations will set up games and give out prizes and candy. This event is totally free!

Fall Fest with Trunk or Treat & Pumpkin Patch
Sunday, October 20, 12pm – 2pm at CUMC, Plano.
We can’t wait for Fall Fest! Join them for a community-wide event at the church. Invite your friends and neighbors as you enjoy tons of fall family fun. The whole campus will be decked out with exciting activities.

Trick or Treat at the Heritage Farmstead
Come in costume and bring your basket for a one-of-a-kind Trick or Treat experience at the Farmstead! They’ll have plenty of fun stops for children (recommended ages 18 months to 9 years) to trick-or-treat, plus games, story time, wagon rides and more. Online registration closes at 5 pm the Wednesday prior to the event, but tickets will be available at the door.
Thursday, October 24th, 6pm – 8pm
Trick or Treat for the kids! Go booth to booth picking up tons of candy and goodies for your children. It’s a blast every year. There will be fun events in the park next to downtown. Good, safe, convenient, community fun! Presented by the Wylie Downtown Merchants Association and the City of Wylie, the downtown trick-or-treat event and festival is a safe alternative for Wylie families as kids can walk through downtown and receive candy and treats from local merchants.
The downtown streets are transformed into a Halloween wonderland featuring trick-or-treating, live music, and carnival games.
Boo on Ballard is free and is the Downtown Merchants’ way of saying thank-you to the community for its support and patronage throughout the year.
3rd Annual Spooktacular (Safari Run, Plano)
October 29th -31st 9.30 – 1.30 Includes: Open Play, Prizes and Free Giveaways, Carnival Games, Costume Contests, Glowing Room, Relay races
Spooktacular admission is $13 per child.
Trunk or Treat, Revolution Church McKinney
Friday, October 25, from 6pm – 7.30. Come to our first ever Trunk or Treat in the Revolution Church parking lot! They’ll have trunks full of candy, a trunk decorating contest (with gift card prizes), and costume awards! We will also have crafts and activities for the kids.
Faith Lutheran School Treat-N-Feast Fall Festival
Friday, October 25, 5 – 9 p.m Farmers, mice, fairies, and superheroes will gather at Faith Lutheran School for the school’s annual Treat N Feast Fall Festival. The event will feature a bounce house, fair-type foods, a cake walk, carnival games and more. Faith Lutheran School is located at 1701 E. Park Blvd. in Plano. Trunk or Treat at UT Dallas
Northwest Parking Lot T and Residence Hall Northwest
Open to the community, bring your family for a safe, fun alternative to Trick or Treating. Enjoy cute DFW haunted houses. Lots of candy, games and fun to be had at Trunk or Treat.
Fall Festival with Trick or Treating at Frisco Fire Safety Town
Friday, October 25, 6pm – 9pm. Geared to tots – fifth graders — but all will have fun exploring our fire truck, seeing our safety house and getting sweet treats in our village.
Other fun activities include:
Exploring the fire engine
Practicing fire escape training in our safety house
Halloween themed temporary tattoos
Visiting with the Frisco Fire Safety Clowns
There is no on-site parking for visitors, so plan to take the shuttle from the Frisco Athletic Center at 5828 Nancy Jane Lane.
Food and water (for fee) will be available while you are in line. This is a rain or shine event.
October 26th from 3pm – 8pm at Toyota Stadium in Frisco. (9200 World Cup Way).
It’s that time of the year again-Friscovania!
This October, take a blast to the past and beyond at the hottest Halloween extravaganza in North Texas, Saturday, October 26, at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Journey through the National Soccer Hall of Fame, where you can partake in over 40 dazzling digital experiences and giant corn holes and miniature golf course. Then if you dare, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., trick-or-treat your way down the haunted Carnival Concourse filled with games, inflatables, tattoos, balloons, photo ops, live characters, yummy treats, and dance feats-oh my! Enjoy loads of fanfare and food trucks on the Food Concourse. From 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., when the night falls, strut your stuff on the main stage in our spooktacular Costume Contest. You might just win a $500 prize! Cap off the evening with live music, entertainers, and the biggest, baddest fashion show in the metroplex. There’s something for everyone at Friscovania, and don’t forget to wear your costume!

Saturday, October 26th from 4 pm – 7 pm
Have you ever seen 1,000,000 pieces of candy? You can at the annual Fall Festival where there is something fun for all ages! It’s three hours packed full of fun games, inflatable, and food trucks! Costumes welcome and it’s FREE!
Fall Festival at St Andrew United Methodist Church
October 27, 5pm – 6.30. 5801 W. Plano Parkway. Free fun for the family including inflatables, trunk or treat, carnival games, bounce houses. Kids are welcome to come in costume.
Custer Road United Methodist Church Fall Festival
October 27th from 5 pm to 7 pm. Make plans to join them for this terrific, fun and FREE children’s event! We’ll have bounce houses, music, games, costumes, food available for purchase and lots more. This year it’s going to be bigger and better than ever.

Kids Spooktacular at Legacy Hall
October 30, 9am – 12noon. Kids costume parade and a DJ for kid-friendly spooky tunes. Photo opps, crafts and more.
Scare on the Square
Tuesday, October 31st in downtown McKinney from 4 pm – 7 pm (FREE EVENT)
The shops in downtown McKinney and McKinney Main Street invite you to come out and enjoy the sights of hundreds of ghosts and goblins young and old in Historic Downtown McKinney. This annual event provides interactive activities to celebrate a safe, secure, family fun Halloween event.
