What are the best Things to Do in Haggard Park

What we love about it is that it not only boasts a playground, plenty of grassy areas to play, a pretty pond, picnic areas, chess boards, and paved walking paths.

Haggard Park would be a great place to host a party but do note there are no covered areas or pavilions to use.

They do offer lots of tables scattered throughout the grounds so you can bring a picnic on a good weather day.

Are there events in Haggard Park?

It’s one of many great event venues as it’s also close to the stage on 15th Street, where many outdoor concerts and performances happen.

Many outdoor events take place at Haggard Park including Summer Movies at the Park and Plano Community Band like to perform there. We also see outdoor weddings too, using the Gazebo.

A beautiful gazebo can be rented for special events and faces onto the pond.

Drinking fountains, restrooms, and dog waste stations promote the comfort of all visitors.

The gazebo is available for reservation through the parks and recreation reservation system. Please call 972-941-7275, Mon – Fri, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. for information or to make a reservation.

Reservations are accepted for one of two-time slots – 8:00 am to 2:00 pm OR 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

It’s also a great place to take Family Photos for Senior pictures and to commemorate a Quinceanera!

The Interurban Railway Museum is at the corner of the park and it is free. Hours are 10am-2pm Mon-Fri and Sat 1pm-5pm closed on Sundays.

This is free and they also have a story time that children would enjoy every Friday at 10:30 am.
