Williamson Music 1st is a 2nd generation music education company based in Plano.

The founders taught in the classroom and private lessons, helped start local symphonies, and created music played worldwide. We carry on this proud tradition by offering the best instruments, lessons, and services to develop the young musician.

Music is both a spark and a therapy in so many lives. Our goal is to help find the spark so that students become self-motivated. To that end we regularly offer free or low cost masterclasses with nationally recognized musicians (such as musicians from Canadian Brass, Snarky Puppy, Maynard Ferguson Band, and Duke Ellington Band to name a few). Last year we provided summer camps in Jazz, String and Brass Ensembles with acclaimed national musicians.

We are the first in the nation to offer band instruments with online instructional video service.

This proprietary online program known as T4 provides many video support they can study in their own time at their own pace. This includes detailed step by step videos on reading music in words and phrases with expression.

Most importantly, we provide the private lesson teachers that patiently develop the young musician day by day. Our teachers are all accomplished musicians, but with an ability to teach that has been developed over years of working with students with a variety of aptitudes and attitudes.

Offering Private Lessons:

All are taught on a one-on-one basis, ensuring that the instructor is able to focus on the student and their individual needs. All lessons are custom-tailored to meet each individual student’s goals.

Ensemble Groups:

The primary focus of every small group rehearsal will be joy. Enjoying playing music with other people, enjoying learning clear and concise strategies for success in improvising, and learning about the history of Jazz music in order to unlock each person’s musical future.
