One Place for All Things Autism Therapy

Having a child diagnosed with Autism can seem like an insurmountable challenge. When your child is on the spectrum, you spend a lot of time running around town visiting different specialists, trying to figure out what your insurance will or won’t cover, and determining which overall treatment plans will be the most effective. If you’ve been searching “ABA therapy near me,” there’s a million other things running through your mind.

You’re wondering: Will he ever go to a “regular” school? Will she ever have friends and participate in enrichment activities like other kids? What kind of life will my child have?

We understand the challenges and concerns you’re facing—the founders of Apara both have children on the spectrum. After experiencing the frustration of piecing together the best care from multiple providers, we knew there had to be a better way. Autism therapy can’t possibly be one-size-fits-all, and autism treatment centers can vary by an incredible amount, leaving you to wonder whether your child is receiving the care that’s meant for them.

We created Apara Autism Center to provide integrative and collaborative programs designed to give your child the best therapy and support options available while also supporting the caregivers and family members. We have over a dozen conveniently located clinics for ABA therapy throughout Texas; We bring together everything families of children with Autism need under one roof: the best care, most experienced clinicians, plus people you can talk to about anything from treatment options to insurance issues.

ABA Therapy Services: (Applied Behavior Analysis) Therapy
ABA therapy is an evidence-based treatment for individuals diagnosed with autism and/or related disorders. ABA therapy and its principles are derived from years of scientific research. Since 1999, the Center for Disease Control has endorsed ABA and since then the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid along with the National Institute of Mental Health have also listed ABA as the Standard of Care of individuals with Autism.

ABA therapy is based on the principles of learning which when implemented at an individualized level can lead to a decrease in problem behaviors while increasing appropriate and wanted behaviors such as communication and daily living skills.

Apara Autism Center is a center-based program dedicated to the principles of ABA Therapy while collaborating with the family and community resources to help your child reach their fullest potential. Our BCBA’s will create individualized ABA treatment plans for each client based on their initial and ongoing assessments.

In Addition to ABA Therapy, Apara Also Provides The Following Services:

Feeding Therapy
Our feeding program is designed to work with those individuals who engage in problem behaviors around eating new or common foods. This program is based on behavioral principles and evidence-based practices to address concerns such as texture sensitivity, general mealtime problem behaviors, and refusal to feed themselves among others. The Apara Autism Center’s feeding program is individualized and implemented with additional parent/caregiver consent after all physiological and oral-motor concerns are ruled out by medical professionals.

Speech and Language Therapy
Sticking to our mission and beliefs in the need to combine ABA Therapy with other disciplines, Apara Autism Center will work with your Speech Therapist or Occupational Therapist in the Apara clinical care setting. If you don’t have a Speech Therapist and this service is medically necessary, Apara can provide internal referrals to help you start the service in the clinic. Speech Therapy follows evidence-based practices and includes individualized treatment plans for each child receiving Speech services. Our BCBAs and your SLPs collaborate along with our parents to create and maintain a highly effective program for your child.

Caregiver Training
Caregiver training is an integral part of our ABA therapy services program. We believe that the more training a parent has in ABA and their child’s specific programming, the better outcome we will see in the future. Each family will have one on one meetings with their BCBA and will be highly involved with their child’s programming and goals. We are a team at Apara, and we want to collaborate with all!

Community & Partner Training
Apara Autism Center strongly believes in training the community to help understand and protect our individuals living with Autism and their families. Collaboration in the community is key when helping an individual reach their fullest potential.

Our trainings are individualized for each community partner and target the incorporation of the principles of ABA therapy into everyday life for a person with Autism. Trainings can be provided to schools, daycare facilities, medical professionals, first responders and the like.
