As we get closer you are probably making summer plans for kids. There are several churches around town that put on a great week of vacation bible school (VBS) for children ages 4 yrs through 5th grade. Older children can serve as volunteers and help out! VBS is a great option for parents because it’s very affordable and kids can learn a lot and have fun! Here are some ideas for VBS locations around Plano.

Summer is getting close and now is the perfect time to starting thinking about your plans. Kids that love the water and want to try something different will love the Hydrous Wake Parks! There are 2 locations in North Dallas: Allen, and Little Elm. It’s a fun and up and coming sport that is great for beginners!
Hydrous wake parks first opened in Allen in September of 2011. They are very close to the Allen skateboard park and located near Allen High School. In the summer of 2013, they expanded and opened up the 2nd location in the city of Little Elm. The Little Elm location includes a great restaurant to try, Towers Tap House.
Summer Camp 2017: Summer camps are already beginning registration. There are many options to choose from including 1/2 day mornings or afternoons, all day camps, or single day session camps. They even have Saturday morning kids camp. Available at both Little Elm and Allen Station locations.
Hydrous Summer Camps are the perfect way to get your kids outdoors and active during the summer. What could be better than spending a week on the water learning how to wakeboard?!
All Day Camps Full Week Full Day camps are great for riders that have already mastered the beginner training lakes! Our Full Day camps are Main Cable Only and riders will NOT have access to the beginner training systems in the afternoon. Full Day camps are Monday – Friday / 1pm-4pm & are for ages 8 – 15. Lunch is NOT provided for Full Day campers. Participants must bring their own lunch.
Single Morning Session Hydrous offers Single Morning Camp Sessions for those who are not able to attend a Full Week Session. Our Single Session Morning Camps are only available Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday / 8:30 am – 11:30 am & are for ages 8 – 15.
Hydrous competed in Point Chase Nationals last August in Florida. Many of the kids in the picture are past campers from Hydrous. Hydrous won third place in Traditional Cable last year. Many of the camp coaches also compete each year. This year’s local Points Chase competition will be held at both parks starting in June. Campers are encouraged to join the competitions. This year campers can compete in the camp division or beginners. Check out www.hyrouswakeparks.com or www.pointschase.com.

Springtime is the time to start thinking about summer. I typically schedule our summers with a mix of Full weeks of Day Camps and a few days or even a Week of Family Time or Staycation (we all plan the week & become tourists in the Metroplex). I also plan vacations out of state or even overseas. How do you manage the summer for your family?
Most camps start registration in March, and some are offering early bird deals, so it’s time to research and come up with a plan. We have gathered the most popular questions moms ask before choosing Camps for their kids. Typically, they include:
What is different about your camp to others of the same kind?
What times and days/dates do you offer?
Do you supply snacks, drinks or lunch and if not, what should my child bring?
Where are your camps located?
Will my child be indoor or outdoor? (Texan heat can be a concern, as is a lack of fresh air!)
Who will be looking after my child? Are they licensed? Do they have CPR/First Aid Skills?
What age groups do you take?
What does a typical day look like?
Our Facebook group is full of moms swapping ideas, so here is a list of some of our favorites, by type:
