Where are the Best Water Parks nearby in Dallas?
During the chilly winter, most of us are looking for an escape to a warmer place like Mexico or the Caribbean. However, if you are looking to stay closer to home, then an indoor waterpark is your best option in beating the winter blues. There are some great indoor water parks in Dallas which are great for year round water-based fun and swimming. These indoor waterparks offer family fun year-round, and many are only a few minutes drive from Plano.
Plano Moms is here to give you a list of DFW waterparks compiled from recommendations by our staff and members that are great for the entire family. And as a bonus, most of these parks keep the air temperature around a hot and humid 85 degrees, making a perfect beach day in any season!

Epic Waters Indoor Waterparks

One of the largest indoor water parks in the world and one of the best DFW water parks is Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark, is an 80,000 square-feet facility with outside space too. This park goes to prove that everything is bigger in Texas!
Epic Waters features water slides for all ages, toddler and child water play area, a lazy river, a Flowrider, swimming pool, cabanas, and sitting areas, rides, birthday party/ event rooms, arcade, and more. You’ll love the body slide Lassoloop (the “tallest indoor Aqualoop” in the country”) and the twisty-turvy Yellowjacket Drop, which is a combination of the popular Boomerango and Constrictor features.
On top of that, visitors can grab food, and enjoy cocktails, wine, beer at a full-service bar. Seriously, they have it all!
And, they have a retractable roof, which opens up on a beautiful summer day and closes during the winter season. You can enjoy Twilight Swim and Family Fun Friday events too.

Plano Aquatic Center has an indoor pool which offers a 25-yard pool that has a shallow area for younger children. There is an outdoor splash ground with fountains and sprayers if you want to venture out, and they offer pool party rentals for your next celebration. Admission costs $3 for ages three and older, and children two and under get in free but must have a paying adult in the water with them at all times.

Great Wolf Lodge

Great Wolf Lodge is the largest family indoor water park resort in the US, and we have one in Grapevine, just a few minutes drive from Plano. Great news – to use the indoor water park, you don’t need to stay at the hotel!
However, it is always worth checking their special deal to stay a night or two to enjoy all other attractions.
Great Wolf Lodge has 80,000 square feet of a water park with tons of activities to choose from. You can enjoy The Fort Mackenzie, a water fort treehouse with interactive water toys and kid-activated splash features. Or have a thrilling ride at the Howlin’ Tornado, a super-fast thrill ride in a raft built for four. They have a lazy river, slides, pools and rides for all age groups. The twists and turns will have you howling before you drop into the six-story funnel of fun, and you can see how high you can ride up the walls before you shoot into the last tunnel for an unforgettable splashdown. You need to visit to experience the fun!
Amenities such as laser tag maze, kids’ spa and interactive movie theater will keep the entire family busy, and for some parents-only playtime, head to the 24-hour arcade, which becomes adults-only after midnight. Frisco Athletic Center is an award-winning, family-focused fitness and aquatic facility, which offers 100,000 square feet of indoor wellness time. And, more than 350,000 gallons of water, which makes it an excellent place for some water fun with the entire family all year round.
The Indoor Aquatic Center features a water slide, activity pool, four lap lanes, a warm water pool, a current channel with vortex, and a children’s play area with spray features and slides for smaller guests. Guests must be 48 inches tall to ride the Big Blue Slide!

Kings Spa and Waterpark

A unique experience for the whole family, King Spa Waterpark, is modeled after traditional Korean spas. It has attractions ranging from a slide to a swim-up bar, hot tubs, and shallow play area for little splashers. The pool utilizes premier whirlpool and water jet technology of varying strengths to provide you with a unique massage experience to relieve muscle pain and internal stress.
And, after lounging in the soothing water jets, you can go to the lazy and take a calming ride with your little ones. The indoor play pool complete with colorful tiles, footbridge, various water fountains, and a 30ft slide, is perfect for the kids.
Your admission ticket also gives you access to the steam and Jacuzzi rooms, as well as the dry rooms where you can sweat out all toxins (good for adults). Kids can enjoy the water-park with parents – although some parents might be tempted to leave the kids to enjoy the waterpark while they luxuriate in the spa. For $25 you can stay for 24 hours if you wish. No food or alcohol can be brought in – but they serve food and drinks on site at good prices.

Grapevine Aquatics offers whole year fun for the entire family with four lap lanes, a current channel, floatables, hot tub, two-tower slides, and two basketball goals. And, have a state of the art play structure for the little ones. They also swim lessons for all ages, birthday parties, after-hour private pool parties, and multiple special events throughout the year.

Super local to us, they have a large indoor aquatic center. The Indoor Leisure Pool has three lanes, ranges from zero-depth to 4 feet deep, a lazy river, kiddie playground, and flume slide.

What a great place for year-round aquatic and fitness fun! Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium is a facility with a 25-yard by 25-meter competition pool with two 1-meter diving boards, a leisure pool with three 25-yard fitness lanes, a flume slide, interactive play water elements and a lazy river, a 5,000 square feet fitness facility, an aerobics room, and a climbing wall. The little kids will definitely enjoy the slide and play area, and big kids can enjoy the indoor rock-climbing wall.
Kids can be left to splash under supervision of lifeguards. Little kids enjoy the slide and play apparatus but older kids may not enjoy it as much. They may however enjoy the indoor rock-climbing wall.
