Think of it, you get to vacation without the hassle. No laborious planning of an itinerary, no time wasted for looking for decent flights (with acceptable routing and dates/times), no pressure that goes with packing; all you need in just a couple of suitcases. Also, it comes with a smaller price tag – especially if you have a big family.
My family loves to travel and we love every hassle that comes with it (at least we have a laugh about it afterward). However, we love a good staycation when there's a celebration or a long holiday. So, if you have no big travel plans this summer perhaps a staycation is just perfect for you.
Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas
There are a lot of good reasons to stay at this family-friendly luxury resort. Amazing facilities, amenities and very helpful staff that makes your stay a memorable one.
Facilities and amenities for the whole family:
A stay during summer is probably the best for families as the resort offers a number of special events suited for the whole family. During our stay, we had the Dallas Zoo Animal Adventures team showcase some of their mammals and reptiles. A truly up-close and personal experience for guests of all ages to enjoy (check out their website for the list of scheduled activities).
To add, this resort offers two TPC golf courses, tennis and fitness facilities, a spa, restaurants, and lounges. So, don't miss out on an unforgettable luxury getaway for the whole family at the Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas at Las Colinas.
Tip: The scavenger hunt is really fun; you have to do it!
If you are looking to get some good ol’ waterpark fun this summer with your staycation then the Hilton Anatole is the place to go. The Jade waters is a 2-acre resort-style pool with a waterpark feel, it features two 180-foot slides, kid’s splash and play area, lazy river and leisure pool with swim-up bar. There are games and variety of kid’s activities available (check the schedule before you book). And if you want some privacy, cabanas and day beds are available for daily rental.
Dallas dining scene has evolved the past years however if you are a foodie then you won’t need to go too far while at Hilton Anatole. The hotel is well located near downtown Dallas’ restaurants but also has several on-site – with options for families.
For the art lovers, this resort is like none other. They have an extensive art collection, which they say is the largest in an American hotel. The collection includes pieces that have graced the palaces of kings, emperors, and czars. Hilton Anatole offers all visitors the opportunity to admire these exotic treasures so go see it for yourself!
Hyatt Regency Dallas
How about a stay at a hotel which is part of the iconic downtown Dallas skyline? Hyatt Regency Dallas is right next to another iconic Dallas landmark, the Reunion Tower. The hotel is also within walking distance of many tourist attractions, like the Sixth-floor museum at Dealey Plaza and the Historic West End. This is a perfect place to immerse your family in the historical past of Dallas. It can't get any better than that!
A visit to the top of the Reunion Tower is a must, kids of all ages can enjoy looking out from the dome's stratospheric observation deck. My kids had a great time with the interactive learning activities and checking out some of their favorite Dallas landmarks. I recommend you go up before sunset as it will give you a new perspective of the city.
To beat the Texas heat, you can chill by the pool and enjoy the view of the Reunion Tower from the pool deck. It is also beautiful at night time when the lights come on.
If you are in the mood for some fine dining, check out the Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck restaurant which sits high atop Reunion Tower (at 560 ft.) with a revolving dining room that offers 360-degree views of the city.
Tip: Hyatt Regency Dallas guests receive 20% off geo-o deck admission if they show their room key.
